#71 Carl Yastrzemski

Carl Yastrzemski
OF/1B
1961-1983
18 Time All Star, MVP, 1967 Triple Crown
Baseball Hall of Fame

Yaz, I grew up in New England so I grew up hearing about him. No man has played more games with one team than he played with the Boston Red Sox. An 18 time all star, who garnered 7 gold gloves and won 3 batting titles was a mainstay in Boston for over 20 years.

Although some people were critical of his base running, the man could hit, and field his position and his totals place him in some heady company. Modern stat people will point to the fact he is #33 on the all time WAR list. He's 9th in hits with 3,419, he's 6th all time in walks, and 2nd in career games played.

He lead the Red Sox to the 1967 and 1975 World Series although they fell in both. He is a shining star in both Red Sox and baseball history and he was elected to the hall of Fame in 1989.

Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
