#84 Clayton Kershaw

8 Time All Star, 5 Time ERA Champ
3 Cy Young Awards, 1 MVP
Putting active guys on an all time list is tough.Putting active guys in their early 30s is even tougher. However if Clayton Kershaw retired tomorrow he'd be headed for Cooperstown and this list. He's put together a run of seasons that rival the Pedro run and even almost the Koufax run, but he's done it in a hyper offense era. His career 2.44 ERA is tremendous. He has 3 Cy Young awards which puts him in a class of only 10 men to have won 3 or more.
He's been the best pitcher in baseball for over a decade at this point, having won a pitching triple crown, and lead the league in wins 3 times, ERA 5 times, and strikeouts 3 more times. He is only 600 short of 3,000 Ks for his career and will be only the 4th lefty to join that club if he gets there.
This is a guy who will only move up as his career continues and it will; be interesting if I do one of these in 5 years.
Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
