#68 Harmon Killebrew

Harmon Killebrew
3B/1B/OF
1954-1975
13 time All Star, MVP
Baseball Hall of Fame
Harmon Killebrew hit baseballs really hard. He hit tape measure shots, at one time holding distance records for many ballparks. When he retired he had the 4th most home runs of all time and the most AL home runs by a right handed hitter. Another guy who made his major league debut at age 18 (bonus baby rule), Killebrew spent his entire career with the Senators/Twins before spending a last season with the Kansas City Royals.

.255 lifetime average is low for a hall of famer, and low for this list, but Harmon didn't get cheated. He hit 40 home runs in a season eight times. Leading the league in homers 6 times. He also lead the league in walks 4 times long before it was valued the way it is now.

Defense wasn't the carrying skill for Killebrew and in the pre DH days he spent time at third, first and in the outfield, but his bat made sure he was in the lineup every single day.

He is still 12th on the all time home run list, 15th all time in walks, and 7th all time in at bats per home run.

Killebrew was elected into the Hall of Fame in 1984

Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
