Paul Molitor played all over the diamond for the Brewers- although primarily a third baseman he also played some short, second, and even in the outfield for the Brew Crew. Later in his career he transitioned to mostly DH-ing, but the truth is no matter where he was playing the man could hit.
3.319 hits is good for 10th all time, and he's a career .306 hitter. He hit over .300 in 12 different seasons including a blistering .352 in 1987. He accumulated all this despite missing over 500 games to injury over his career.
In 1993 after having spent his while career in Milwaukee he headed north for Toronto and at age 36 finished second in the MVP voting and lead the Blue Jays to a World Series win where he was named the World Series MVP, He has a .368 career postseason average.
Molitor is one of only 5 men to ever accumulate 3000 hits, a .300 lifetime average and 500 stolen bases. (They are Ichiro Suzuki, Eddie Collins, Ty Cobb, and Honus Wagner).
He was elected to Cooperstown on his first ballot in 2004
Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
