#72 Robin Yount
Robin Yount
SS/OF
1974-1993
2 Time MVP
Baseball Hall of Fame
Robin Yount won 2 MVPs, one as a shortstop and one as a center fielder and he was a mainstay for the Milwaukee Brewers for 20 years. He made his major league debut at EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD.
His 3142 hits cemented his place among the greats of the game- the best shortstop on the American League pre Ripken and he became a very solid centerfielder only 4 men have ever won the MVP at multiple positions and he is the face of the Brewers franchise.
Using new school metrics he's ranked 44th all time in WAR, and traditional stats wise he's in the top 25 in Doubles, Games Played, and Hits.
Circumstance and under appreciation lead to him only being named to 3 All Star Teams, a stunning number when you consider his career achievements. However Cooperstown got it right in 1999 and we're getting it right here
Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
