7 Time All Star, 4 Time Gold Glove
Baseball Hall of Fame
Craig Biggio was an incredibly versatile performer who added to his game as his career went along and spent his entire 20 year career with the Houston Astros. He came up as a catcher and made an all star team before being moved to second base to preserve his athleticism, early in his career he was known as a hit for average guy with some speed.
He became a gold glove caliber second baseman (winning 4) and made the all star game 7 out of 8 years from 1991 to 1998. He spent a few years in his late 30s playing the outfield to open up an infield spot for Jeff Kent before moving back to second to finish out his career.
He lead the league in doubles 3 times, hit over 20 homers 8 times and ended his career with 3,000 hits. He holds the modern day record for hit by pitches.
Biggio has unfortunately become a cause celeb for tough guy talk radio hosts who think the hall of fame is bloated and they call him a "compiler" who was "never elite" - this is garbage, by almost any measure he's one of the greatest second baseman of all time and the longevity and consistency make him a no brainier here. He got into Cooperstown in 2015.
Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
