#95 Larry Walker
Larry Walker
OF
1989-2005
7 Gold Gloves, 3 Batting Titles
Baseball Hall of Fame
Canada is on the board! Larry Walker didn't put up huge career numbers (2160 hits, 383 home runs) but he is a lifetime .313 hitter, a former MVP, a 5 time all star, 7 time gold glover, and a hall of famer. He is also a great example of a guy who played the whole game.
If you're into advanced metrics Larry Walker is your guy. He is one of 3 players who are in the top 100 in batting runs, base running runs, and defensive runs saved (the others are Willie Mays and Barry Bonds).
Walker came up in Montreal and was on the 1994 team that looked world series bound before moving onto Colorado. During his stay in Colorado he ran off 3 batting titles in 4 years (98, 99, 01). His detractors point to the years spent in Colorado as an inflating factor in his numbers, and there may be something to that, but this was a pretty close to 5 tool guy.
He finished up in Saint Louis for a season and a half including his only career World Series appearance in 2004.
His Cooperstown call came in 2020. He is one of 2 Canadians on the Leo 100.
Anthony Leonelli is a 37 year old College Baseball Coach and amateur baseball arguer. If you wanna know how this list came together check here criteria. He thinks that George Brett winning batting titles in 3 decades is pretty awesome.
